The IDCS system as show is capable of negotiating a 90-degree elbow inside a 20 cm (8 in) pipe.

The Internal Duct Characterization System (IDCS) was designed and manufactured by Inuktun Services Ltd. and ASA Automation Systems Associates to be a durable and reliable pipe inspection system while operating repeatedly in environments which could expose it to various contaminants and temperatures. Shown above, the compact, powerful system incorporates precision machined crawler tracks, modular component housings, a tether management system and a computer based operating center which provides overall systems management. The system operates from a nominal 115 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase power source.  

The IDCS vehicle components are manufactured from stainless steel and are designed for ease of operation and cleaning/decontamination. The three main modules of the vehicle are the housing train, mounting brackets and the Microtracs.
